Matterhorn Glacier Paradise

It was a pricey excursion but the views are breathtaking. The Cinema left a lot to be desired and there was no signage for the advertised Tubing which was unfortunate. The ice sculptures were decent but the advertised Ice Bar was not open nor were any of the shops possibly because it was a Sunday morning. We left the experience wondering if our money would have been better spent taking the railway to Gonergrat...

Not what we expected. Not worth the money. The activities included did not meet expectations and were a waste of time. Thought ski pass was included.

Matterhorn is one of the top peaks among Swiss mountains. To get to Matterhorn, you need to go to Zermatt station and catch the green line bus from there. Get down at the last stop and take the cable car to the top.. The view from the top is simply incredibe. There's ice clad mountains everywhere and usually the temperature is around -15deg. It truly feels like being in paradise and maybe that's why the name- Matterhorn glacier paradise. There will always be people skiing from the mountain top which to me was highly brave... I was really happy to visit this beautiful mountain top, it was my first time in Switzerland and well worth it. Although the view and the trip is great, there are a few things that I would recommend anyone planning to go 1) It is recommended that you go there early during the day. At around 315 pm, they began to close the restaurant and told me that the last cable car is till 330pm. This is why, I missed one of the views at the top, the section for glacier paradise. 2) It is better if you take the Swiss pass a day before the trip, it will be cheaper. On the same day the train ticket will be 300% more expensive. 3) You have to go to Zermatt station. From Zurich, this is almost 3 hours journey. Plan the trip accordingly. 4) It is mandatory that you wear clothes, gloves and a hood that allows you to withstand that temperature (around -15 deg). It will be freezing cold at the top, so you need to be careful. 5) If you're planning to ski, then gather equipment accordingly. They offer ski stuff at the location as well. At the top you have panaromic view, a restaurant, cinema lounge, glacier paradise, etc... Incredible place to be....

Incredible views both from the cable car and at the top. We were lucky enough to have a very clear and sunny day. The altitude did affect me a little but all ok after a drink and fresh air! The ice palace was good too. As it's not an actual tour, you can do everything at your own pace which is great. One tip is that once you have gone in to the ice palace and come out, your ticket won't let you back in, so make sure you see everything you want to the first time. Well worth the money overall, loved it!

Basically we took the gondola ride and the scenery is spectacular. We got off and looked around and had coffee and a tort at Restaurant Furri which was very nice. I didn’t see any signs for the activities that were advertised. So maybe we paid too much for a gondola ride.

Incredibly wonderful experience. I highly recommend. I felt like I was on top of the world, everything was so simple to follow

The Glacier Paradise was a BEAUTIFUL experience. The funicular was spectacular with 360 views of mountains, goats, and waterfalls from the ice melt. At the top, there were series of tunnels through the glaciers with ice sculptures, a theater, restaurant, snow tubing, and a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. It wasn't crowded, there was plenty of room to navigate without other people being too bothersome, and you could even ski at the top!

I can't imagine going to Zermatt and not doing this! The views of the mountain are stunning. Going down an elevator into a glacier at 12,000 feet is an incredible experience.

Worth the money! Got to do everything at the top! Beautiful views from start to finish, and even more breathtaking at the top.

The rides up to the top were great BUT altitude got to me and I wasn't able to walk the last 100 yds through the tunnel to the ice carvings. There were hundreds upon hundreds of teenagers with skis crowding the tunnel racing to get back to the lifts down not really caring who they ran over. When one of them threw up in the tunnel altitude sickness? that was all for me.
