Hallstatt Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna

Hallstatt is a must-see in Austria. We had terrible weather (rained the entire time), but it still was totally worth the trip to this fairytale village. Marco was our driver, but also gave us a lot of information on the trip to Halstatt from Vienna. He was fantastic! Made the whole trip very enjoyable. On the way back to Vienna, it was raining very hard and he navigated these tricky driving conditions like a professional. Couldn’t recommend this trip and this tour company enough!

This was an incredible trip! Hallstatt was absolutely breathtaking (even in less than perfect weather) and the scenic route we took through the Lake Districts was also gorgeous. The tour organizers were super communicative about questions leading up to the trip and it was an added bonus to have them pick us up from our hotel and drop us off at the end of the tour. The car was a bit small but the driver/tour guide, Balazs, was incredibly attentive to the needs of the group. Another bonus - wifi in the car!! Balazs was super informative and added valuable commentary throughout the entire journey about both Vienna, Hallstatt, the Lake District and everywhere in between. We had been on another trip just the day before where the tour guide had literally been reading off cards so he was a joy to spend the day with. Despite rainy weather, Balazs was still able to squeeze in little stops along the way to Hallstatt to explore the Lake District. We paused at three different lakes and then in the town of Mondsee to see the wedding cathedral from the Sound of Music! Our guide in Hallstatt, Christiana, was very thorough in explaining the history and culture of the town in a guided walk. She pointed out food options (even throwing in her recommendations as a local!) and even offered to help the group find their way to specific attractions after our time with her had run out. In our free time, we took pictures around the town, had some delicious kebab wraps from a food cart, then went up the mountain via cable car. Because of the rain, it was super foggy at the top and it was difficult to see the lake/town below. But the mist cleared up around half an hour/an hour later and we were able to get great pics! After that, we started back for Vienna. My entire family couldn’t stop chattering about how amazing the day had been, even with the troubled weather. An incredible tour - would definitely book with White Alligator Tours again!!

This is a must see trip! We really loved getting to know Balazs during our journey to Hallstatt and back. Our primary destination was Hallstatt but Balazs took the time to make side stops just as special. Even playing photographer for the most perfect shots with incredible backdrops. His driving was so smooth that I think everyone was relaxed and enjoyed the scenery. He did a great job blending our groups together and we all enjoyed each other’s company. When we arrived in Hallstatt he introduced us to a resident, Christiana. She was delightful and spend an hour taking us around the charming small town. After our tour she gave us some recommendations for lunch and a few activists we could do on our own before return to meeting up with Balazs to return to Vienna.

Our guide and driver Peter was so personable and knowledgeable, making the whole tour very enjoyable. Such wonderful scenery, including a few lovely picture stops along the way to Hallstatt. A highly recommended day trip from Vienna!

The day trip was exactly as described, and we enjoyed it despite of the tricky weather at Hallstatt. The excursion was well organized, and it all went as scheduled and according to plan. Peter was professional and polite, and gave us a lot of useful information both for Vienna and Austria in general as well as for the Lake District and Hallstatt in particular.

The trip was absolutely amazing from start to finish , but what really made the trip for us was our tour guide Balaz , not only was he very friendly and nice but he also told us a lot of very interesting facts about Austria and it’s history . 12 hour trip flew by and this was definitely the best memory from our trip in Austria ! Thank you Balaz and white alligator tours .

Exelent Expiernce! Balazs was exactly on time and he picked us from our hotel. Very friendly and helpfull. We have some stops to take photos from Unterach (as you can see from my photos the view is unbelievable) Then we went to our final destination which the experience was fantastic. Thanks to WhiteAligators and Balazs for those nice photos I took Christos and Mike sends greetings to Balazs :) Thank you for this amazing expiernce
