Waste of time

The guide was very nice but the tour was a waste of time. It was a sales pitch for most of the time and again a waste of time.
icon Response from Host , Aug 2022
we are sorry you waste your time You made 2 hours of activity and a walking tour before entering in the show rooms.. Last minute booking clients like you do not read all info of the tour and even print the voucher with meeting point instruction. You arrived 10 minutes late at the wrong meeting point while other people was waiting for you. We lost time to get to the boat becouse you had no facial mask for covid I think we waste more time with you

Great overall experience but I would like to hear more history of the beautiful art of glass blowing.

Met expectations with making jewelry. Exceeded with accommodations and purchases.

Tour guide who walked us to the ferry was great and accommodating to an elderly person who was unable to keep the usual walking pace. The factory tour was a great experience watching the master artisan demonstrate a blown glass cup and a sculpted horse. The jewelry/mosaics portion was also a lot of fun. We made bracelets and an anklet. The only down side was that the jewelry portion was a little rushed only allowing 30 minutes and someone in our group wanted to make a bracelet and a key chain and offered to pay for the extra piece but it was not allowed. The shopping in the store was great. Not pressured and we bought stemware and had it shipped. Used the WC Toilets before we left. The salesman helped us find our way to the museum! Great experience.

Not worth the effort, but cool if they showed more

The guide who met us and got us to the factory was great. He was informative and personable. The glass blowing demonstration was minimal and the guide in the factory watched you like a hawk as you walked through the shop. Either he was afraid we’d break or steal something or was overly attentive in case we were going to buy something.

The tour was great. There were just our family of three and another of six on the tour. All our questions were answered throughly during the demonstration. We did not feel rushed during the workshop time. My daughter and I made bracelets and my husband made a keychain

The demonstration from the master glass blower was amazing. He made two pieces and the tour guide explained every detail of the process.

This was very disappointing. We saw one artisan working with an assistant for less than 10 minutes. A factory tour should include more. I was hoping to see how all the different glass was crafted. We then spent 30 minutes making a craft which was not what I wanted to do with my time.

Not worth the time or money.

Island is worth the trip over to see it yet felt Iike this tour was a bit of a tourist trap. Glass blowing was very simple and short workshop was simple bead bracelet making or glue mosaic w broken glass.... not something we would do again. Also. The girl at the workshop was less then enthused . Seemed as if we were interrupting her day and that was the last place she wanted to be.

Kindergarten project

My wife and I visited North Carolina where we both were given an opportunity to blow our own glass. We thought this would be similar and fun for our 22, 17 and 16 year olds. Well you get to watch a master craftsmen make 3 or 4 objects (15 min) then you are ushered to a room to do a kindergarten project (10min) then you walk through the glass store for as long as you want. Not worth it in my book.

So dumb
Jamie_B

It was just awful. A two hour tour broken down as follows: 25-30 min being led to the boar and riding to the island. 10 min mildly interest glass blow demonstration 45 min “workshop” where we made a silly craft 35 min to wonder around a gift shop with priorities hoping we’d make an impulse purchase. A complete rip off and the first thing I’ve experience in my week here that was a blatant tourist trap. We essentially paid 35€ a head for a key chain and the chance to spend more money. Would NEVER recommend this to anyone.

Not a bad tour for small families Kids and wife had fun. Tour should have include the ferry ride so it’s all inclusive rather than we spending more money and time on tickets.

Disappointing visit!

Visited the Murano glass factory which took some time to get there. We were really looking forward to seeing the "factory" however instead saw just one item being made in a small warehouse. We then expected to make an item however the options were to make a bracelet, key ring or glass bracelet (no glass blowing involved). Was expecting a lot more of the tour!

It was cool to see but it was definitely organized for people who have no experience with glass. The activity was either putting beads on a string or making a mosaic and the demo was just watching the glass master making whatever he was already working on. It was fun, but we wish it was a little more involved or at least a more detailed demo.

We booked this trip for a family of 6. Unfortunately, it was not listed that transpiration was not included. We had to spend an additional 90 Euros to get to and from Murano Island. However, our guide, Rachele, was lovely and the factory was a fun family experience.

Not worth the money!

You get a 10 minute demonstration which is the best part. Then 10 minutes to make a pair of earrings (4 beads), a keychain (3 large beads), a bracket (15 tiny beads) or a tiny mosaic. Then it’s all about going to the showroom and power selling you. Not worth the money.

Most memorable was getting lost in our search for tour guide. Made it to meeting point at 3 minutes after 9am with no tour guide available. We made an attempt (on our own) to find glass factory with our tour already gone. Needless to say, we did NOT get to make murano piece nor tour.

Murano glassmaking fun
Donna_J
, May 2022
This was a fun tour - we traveled over to Murano and saw examples of the glassblowing process. May 1st in Italy is like our Labor Day in September so the entire workshop was not in but the examples were great fun to watch a couple different processes. We enjoyed each making a mosaic (or we could make a piece of jewelry) - it is harder than you may think :) Then we had time to shop before making our way back on our own - we had ACTV passes so no problem there. I would definitely go back again - the glassworks are beautiful.

It was great to see the glass making in person and also make our own pieces. The show room was beautiful and also picked up some pieces.
