Your tour from Venice to Murano, Torcello, and Burano begins as you board your motorboat and set off across the Venetian Lagoon to your first stop, the island of Murano, which is actually several small isles dissected by a wide canal. Disembark the boat to walk around Murano with your guide.

Visit a glass factory, where you watch a glassblower creating beautiful pieces of glassware, a Murano tradition that dates back to 1291. Hear a bit about the island’s history from your guide, who tells you about Murano’s prosperity in the 1400s and 1500s, when it was the center of glassmaking in Europe. Then go admire other sights like churches decorated with mosaics and other ornamental details.

Next, visit Torcello, an island established between the 5th and 6th centuries, to see its ornate palaces and churches. Highlights include the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, founded in the 7th century, and the excavated remnants of the baptistery in the Church of Santa Fosca. Then head to your third stop, Burano, an island known for its lace production, which dates back to the 16th century and was once the best in Europe. While you visit local shops and a museum to admire high-end lace on display, admire the island’s brightly-colored fishermen’s houses.

Your tour then ends with the return boat ride to Venice.

What a shame!

Unfortunately I read the bad reviews too late. I would never recommend this trip. You do not have enough time on the islands. On Torcello we could not visit the church because you have a 10 minutes walk one way and there was a big line before the church also because of checking the Covid Certificate. The second church was closed and we had only 45 minutes on the island itself. The same was on the other islands, there was no time for shopping, exploring or eating something. You better bring your own sandwiches, drinks et cetera. The explanations on the boat were very good but on the islands itself there was no guide. An employee of the glass factory itself explained the work. At Torcello and Burano you are by your own. Burano we loved very much and it was a pity that we did not have more time there.

Burano was just amazing wish we had more time there. Also murano after waiting to get into the glass blowing factory I didn’t have time to go to the church and shop more.

Don’t waste your money and visit the islands on your own

Why make us pick a langue when it was in four languages? It felt rushed. Boat left early from last stop and we missed it by 2 minutes.

Waste if time

This tour is a waste of time. 30-40 minutes on each island. Don’t book! 100 people on a crowded ferry boat and they just drop you off and tell you be back in 40 minutes

See islands without viator tour!

The three islands were interesting. Loved Burano by far the best. Wish we had more time to shop and maybe eat. The colorful buildings were beautiful. When signing up for the English tour, I expected more of a personal tour rather than a crowded boat with Italian being translated over the speaker. Very hard to hear or learn anything. It seems we could have easily just purchased the boat tour directly at the gate. Viator had nothing to do with this tour???

Not worth the money

We were disappointed by the visit. It was really not what we expected. We had the hope to be able to stay longer in Murano and Burano. The visit of the glass factory was also to commercial.

Pretty and informative, but not enough time in Murano

The visit to Burano and Torcello was super recommendable since you can capture the easily the essence of each island. In Murano we found that the visit to the glass factory took too much time that we could not discover the island as much as we would have liked, since we only had 20 to 30 minutes at the end to walk around.
