Pompeii and Herculaneum SELECT skip the line

Excellent value and experience. Tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. Only downer was the service where we had lunch which is not the operators fault.

Tour guide Ralf was brilliant even on bus journey to Pompeii he provided historical context. At both sites he was able to bring to life every home, shop, street, etc.

Tony was the best! He provided so much incredible information and made the already amazing place even more intriguing.

Everyone I had spoken to said if you do Pompeii you have to do Herculaneum, so when I found this trip I was really pleased. What I hadn’t realised was how HUGE Pompeii is so 2 hours there is definitely not enough! Not a criticism of the tour, just an observation on my part. Our guide was informative and have a good level of detail so we got a good feel for the place although we had to miss out on the brothel because the queue was so long. Herculaneum much quieter and I think I enjoyed that more as better preserved. 2 hours here was just about right. However my issue with the tour was that on booking it said MAX 21 people which I already thought was a lot and when we got there, there was 27 of us. It was such a big group we often got separated from the guide and probably got to see less just because of the logistics of a big group. Our guide did the best he could but it can’t be easy trying to corral nearly 30 people by himself. So overall it was a good overview but I would like to go back to Pompeii to explore a bit more either by myself or a much smaller group.

Our bus driver Carlos and tour guide Tony were the best. Highly recommend this tour. Tony was so polite and friendly calling our group “family” during the whole tour. He gave lots of history and showed us all the best parts of the ruins. He was patient, stress free and explained every part of the journey, throwing a few jokes in here and there. It was a fabulous day and Tony was one of the loveliest and nicest guides we had in our holiday. Everything was well orgnaised and nothing was rushed. We really enjoyed this tour.

What an amazing experience. This place is absolutely massive. It was quite uncomfortable with heat and all but our guide Tony was so patient and calm guiding us along….. Our bus was very comfortable and lunch was provided which give us chance to relax for a short while. You have to use your imagination what it was like back then…brilliant tour!! Would love to see it again. Thank you❤️

It was a fantastic tour with a very experienced guide. Everything went smooth as planned including pick up at exact time. Liked Pompeii but more impressed by Hernaculenium.

Our small group turned out to be 26 people. Not what I consider a small group. Disappointed we were not given any time to explore or shop on our own as we were rushed to lunch that was served by unfriendly staff. I got to see a Pompeii exhibit that came to the states as a kid and was very excited to see it in person. Sadly, we didn’t even have time to go into the gift shop as we were rushed away to the bus. It would have been nice to pick up a remembrance of our trip, but nope, had to get to the bus. In Herculaneum, the guide took us to an area where we could view the entire site. He showed us an area where they found the remains of many bodies near the original shore line. He indicated that we would not be able to go down there even though we saw many people in that area. He led our group to the exit and started to lead us in until two other guides started arguing with him. After a lengthy conversation, he turned around and we walked to the entrance and actually did go to the area he previously pointed out to us. At that point I wondered if he was cutting our tour short as I saw several groups go into places we did not go. I will say, he was friendly and extremely knowledgeable, but was our tour short changed? This was our first Viator tour and it will probably be our last. I was not impressed.

Bus was nice and decent AC works prefect. Guide is good, would prefer better one since she speaks English but with strong Itallian accent that little bit hard to understand. End if the tour we need to drop about 5-6 couple to 5 different hotels before dropping us. Suppose to start at 08.30 or 9 but need to pick up few couples from different hotel so we start about 30 mins from the time that was set up. Provided meal was really average for such a price

Ralph was excellent tour guide. We enjoyed the trip..Greatly informative. Pickup and drop off easy. Could ask for more.
