Bar hopping in Rome

If you are looking for bar hopping as we know it in the states, this is not the tour for you. We booked this excursion under that pretense. We met the group at the Coliseum and then purchased a metro ticket to go to our first location, which was three stops from our meeting place. Not sure why we just didn’t meet there to start with. We are both kids at heart, and both knocking of the door of 50, however, we both felt that we were taking a college group to their first bar experience. First stop was a very dark bar, with very loud music where you received a welcome shot and a free mixed drink. During the first hour at this bar, you could drink as much as you wanted for free. You just take the cup back and get another ticket. They also provided free pizza and “games”. The games were just flip the cup and beer pong so nothing really original. We kept hoping the next bar would be better and it was an improvement but the music was even louder and most of the patrons to this bar were standing outside so they could hear. We ended a few doors down in a dance bar which was our favorite of them all, even though we snuck out early and left our drunkened college group to their own devices. We are sure this is a good tour for some, but just not our thing. We forgot how obnoxious some drunks can actually be. We made the best of it though!
