Worst Experience Ever
Harout_S
, Jul 2022
This was not a tour, it was a full day of taking public transport with 75 people to Cinque Terre and back to Milan. We saw zero, nothing. We went to Manorolo not to tour it but to take a public train, then to take a public ship to La Spezia. Again, this was NOT a tour. The bus was freezing cold and we all got sick. The guide Eddy was selfish and passive aggressive and provided horrible experience. In Monterosso he took us to a underground restaurant where we suffocated. Waste of money and time! What a shame!

The screaming babies on...

The screaming babies on the bus and the delays we had waiting on that family to load and unload strollers and car seats. Even the guide was getting a little irritated. Cinque Terre was beautiful. This tour only allows for stops at two of the cities but they more than made up for it with the boat ride. Definitely worth it!

Worth it if you only have a short time in the region

, Jul 2022
Things that were great: meet up location was easy to find, convenient. Buses were comfy, train and boat tickets ready, and most importantly-the areas we visited were stunningly beautiful. Not great: The time one gets at each stop is quite short, which is to be expected on these day trip style outings. But definitely if you have time I would recommend a longer stay. Our guide was reasonably informative and efficient but decidely aloof and not engaged in a personal way.

Picturesque villages!

Excellent trip. Nice villages, delicious food, comfortable bus, train and a boat ride. We had time for everything. Shopping locally made merchandise, trying their signature food (the best pesto sauce in Monterosso) and drinks and a swim in Ligurian sea!

Worthwhile one-day excursion to Cinque Terre

, Jul 2022
The scenery of Cinque Terre is outstanding, don't miss the experience. Getting there from Milan is not easy, so we appreciated the arrangements made by the organizers with the tour-bus, the train ride and the ship-ride. Salvatore, our guide, was knowledgeable and pleasant, and guided the whole excursion with an easy manner and humor.

Absolutely beautiful place. It was a long bus trip but well worth it. We didn’t originally have this on our list to visit while in Italy but will certainly go there again and enjoy more days!

Nice trip. Too many people for one guide. Difficult to hear audio and he was walking very fast. Enjoyable tour despite size.

Amazing Tour

This place was my main draw to Milan as I knew we could do a day trip there and it was worth every minute! It was a long way to get down there but the scenery was lovely and Cinque Terre did not disappoint in the least!! It was everything I had dreamed of and more from the pictures. Definitely go to the restaurant they recommend at the hilltop for lunch and have the pesto! Some of the best in my life with an incredible view! The water was so enticing, my husband jumped in clothes and all! Definitely book this one!

Nearly 13 hours of wasted time and frustration
Jenna_M
, Jun 2022
Cinque Terre is a beautiful place, you cannot discount that! When booking this tour I knew we didn't have time to stay in Cinque Terre but this tour gave us the opportunity to make a day trip out of it from Milan. What they don't seem to advertise are the following: 1. It is a 3.5 hour drive on a bus from Milan to Cinque Terre (meaning 7 hours of this trip is purely driving) 2. When we arrived to Manarola, we were told we had been running late so we could wander around for 45 minutes. Such a cute and magical town requires more than 45 minutes to see!! So this began our frustrations 3. We then took a train to Monterosso al Mare which continued the theme of a lack of time as we were alloted 1 hour and 15 minutes to explore this town. 4. After that the trip is essentially over and you begin your trek back to the bus via boat. This part was what I was most looking forward to - to see Cinque Terre from the water. Well, this "Boat Tour" that the speak of is actually a FERRY, nothing special at all, no interesting facts to learn about on the way, NOTHING! We took 2 different ferries with zero direction from our tour guide to get back to our bus. I absolutely recommend going to the Italian seaside to see these beautiful towns. But I would NEVER recommend this tour to a friend or family member. Thank goodness the lack of organization gave us a few laughs along the way! *Our bus driver was a very nice man and did a great job!!

Amazing Cinque Terre!!

Cinque Terre is a must see. Walking into beautiful quaint villages on the Ligurian sea and then taking a boat ride at Monterosso to the picturesque harbour of Porto Venere makes a wonderful day.

Great day trip, good value for money with the day containing +6hrs on coaches, a train ride and +1hr boat ride. Time in Cinque Terra hamlets is ample, although during peak period the areas were extremely busy.

A Day From Hell
Beleata_W
, May 2022
This was an exceptionally long (13 hours), hot, and busy day. The coach was not cool enough. The places we visited in Cinque Terre were overrun by tourists. The prettiest town Manarola we only visited for about 20 mins which was not long enough. We were then taken by train to Monterosso. There was nowhere to sit at a restaurant to eat or drink as way too many people and all restaurants full. No toilets readily available. Then two boats to get to the meeting point for the coach which seemed unnecessary and delayed our return home. Would i do this again even if for free............a big no. I want to say this bad review was mostly not Viator or tour guides fault, just the sheer volume of people in Cinque Terre.

Worst Trip EVER!!
Cujo
, May 2022
THE WORST!! 7 Hours on a bus with a screaming baby. Why was a baby even aloud? The boat trip was even worse. Float down the cinque Terre but because you’re on the wrong side of the boat you don’t get to see ANYTHING!! Then you change boats?? Why? Nobody ever said. 45 minutes to change boats for a boat trip that takes 20 minutes. Yes I’m serious!! I travel A LOT but for me cinque Terre was a bucket list item. I saw very little if the cinque Terre, on a 14 hour trip we spent 2.5 hours actually touring the cinque Terre and eating lunch. This was a 100% waste of precious time and money.

Good tour, spotty service
Michael_H
, May 2022
My overall tour experience was very good. My only issue is that I lost my glasses on the tour bus, I immediately contacted the tour company who gave me the contact for the local tour operator after numerous calls and text messages I was not able to to reach the tour operator until the following day and she was not helpful nor did she seem to care about personal belongings.
