Your tour will begin in front of the resplendent Pitti Palace. The former home of the powerful Medici family, the lavish Renaissance palace now hosts an extraordinary collection of art.

Bypass the lines at the main entrance and enjoy direct entry with your skip-the-line ticket. Follow your guide through the opulent rooms of the Palatine Gallery, arranged for aesthetic value rather than being displayed chronologically. As you roam from room to room, hear about the history of the building and the Medicis, who took over the palace in the 16th century until their fall from power in the 18th century.

Pause to admire some of the incredible works amassed by the Medicis during their rule. See works from Raphael, Caravaggio, Titian, Pietro da Cortona and Rubens, learning the stories and techniques behind the masterpieces. From the windows, catch views of Brunelleschi’s Santo Spirito Basilica and the Boboli Gardens.

Your tour will conclude in the gallery after two hours, leaving you free to continue exploring on your own, if you wish.

Delightful Pitti Palace tour
, Nov 2019
Three couples from Texas comprised the small group tour of the Palatine Gallery on November 6. We found ourselves in the company of an extremely knowledgeable guide who effectively shared his enthusiasm for the artwork collected by the Medici family. He made excellent use of the time we had in the gallery and recommended a number of additional things we could see in the palace following our tour. We were very pleased with the tour.

Our wonderful guide Sarah brought to life the history and stories of the Medici’s and the artists of the time with such insight and detail that it backfilled much of the knowledge to explain what we had already experienced in Florence. Highly recommend this tour and can’t thank Sarah enough for sharing her knowledge with us.
Not as Much to See as I Had Hoped
, Oct 2019
The tour guide was good and she pointed out the best of what was on display. But the sad fact of the matter is that there are a lot of less than glorious paintings. And the apartments of the king and queen are tired and uninteresting. Had I known this, I would have taken a tour of the gardens instead.
A beautiful attraction

The tour guide was very knowledgable. Her constant criticism of how the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens was being managed and maintained was very annoying. She ignored my need to slow down and conclude on time. We ended up leaving her before the end because I could not keep going.

Guide was informative and excellent presenter. The palace was relatively quiet as the tour was in the morning. She made the tour engaging and interesting. The collection was stunning. Overall this was fantastic treat!
Excellent experience

Wonderful and insightful tour. We would never have understood or fully appreciated the meaning and importance of many of the works, nor known what to single out on our own, as the collection is vast and overwhelming. Grazie to Maurizio, an excellent professional guide with a nuanced grasp of English. Highly recommend this tour.

My lady friend and I toured the Duomo, Accademia, and Uffizi in the days before we came here. After those two, I did not expect to see much that would overwhelm me. I was wrong! This tour gave us plenty of opportunity to get up close and personal with dozens of magnificent works, in the breathtaking Pitti Palace. After that, we stayed and took photos in the gardens. We had the opportunity to see, in a couple of short hours, the evolution of art from early Renaissance to modern. This gave us new insights about the nature and inspiration of modern art.I do not recommend this for kids under 12 unless they have an interest in art that is far beyond their chronological age.I do recommend this for everyone who has an interest in Florentine art, architecture, or history.
