This tour combines one of the most beautiful regions in Italy with the loveliest time of day for a memorable wine-tasting experience. Meet your professional driver and guide in front of the National Library( piazza Cavalleggieri, 1) and set off in an air-conditioned minivan along the Via Chiantigiana scenic route. Enjoy the views as you travel through a landscape of cypress trees, vineyards and charming villages tucked into the rolling hills.

Your first stop is the well-preserved medieval village of Greve-in-Chianti, where you’ll have a chance to stretch your legs with a stroll around the historic town square and browse local shops. Continue on with a photo stop at lovely Montefioralle before arriving at your main destination, a family-run vineyard known for its excellent wines. Learn about traditional production methods on a cellar tour, and taste four different wines including Chianti Classico and other Super Tuscans.

The tasting is scheduled to coincide with the golden hour before sunset, so you can enjoy world-class wines, along with a snack of bruschetta and cheese, while watching the honey-hued light settle over the vineyards. On the return drive to Florence, stop in the picturesque village of Badia a Passignano for more photos and a bit of local history. The 4-hour tour concludes with drop-off at the National Library in central Florence.

We had a brilliant trip with Dimitri as our guide. He was top class, very knowledgable, accommodating, genuine and polite, he really made a great difference to our trip. We visited a butchery, wine tasting and then had dinner. It really was a brilliant trip and would recommend to anyone. We benefited from being the only people booked on to this tour and so had a private trip, so we were very lucky. Ok value for money, it was a lot but worth it, would re book.

We highly recommend this tour. Filamina was our tour guide. She was very personable, fun, and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the winery tour, and our stop in the village. We learned a lot, and sampled wonderful wines, olive oils, cheeses, and bread. We will definitely do this tour, on our next trip to Florence.

We met Maurzio Brogioni and his wife and they were absolutely adorable! They showed us how they make the wines (so interesting!) and explained the whole process. We had a tour of their winery and then we sampled 4 wines (they were so delicious... we bought a few!) and their homemade olive oil (literally the best olive oil I have ever tasted- it tasted like the olives were still on the trees!). They also make the most delicious dark chocolate (with their olive oil)... it was so decadent and yummy!! His wife also makes some lotions with the olive oil and they were very smooth and smelled great! They were an absolute pleasure and it was a great experience! They are very nice people and we were so happy to support a small Italian business that really makes high quality products! They were not pushy at all about purchasing and they have an online website also! I can't wait until our products arrive! Highly recommended.... so much fun!!

this was nice small group (8) tour that took you into the Grieve area of the Chianti region the ride out was a bit long but worth the time as the scenery and views were spectacular and our driver/ guide was very nice pointing out different things as we went. the first stop was at a butcher shop in Grieve quite frankly as a butcher shop was interesting but could have been missed wine from a machine is not what one would expect when visiting Tuscany, however the 2nd stop was great the owner/winemaker took us into his vineyard and Olive grove explaining his whole process it was obvious he was very proud. the tasting of the 4 wine were accompanied with cheeses, bread and chocolate. if the first stop had been like the 2nd this would have been a definite 5 star

However, the shop in Greve in Chianti is a must for people visiting Chianti, might not be a popular choice their wine tasting method, but to also have a choice of typical food products that other wineries wouldn't have. Viator provided us with an amazing guide in Francesco. The wine tasting was in a quaint part of the Tuscan hills and was everything we hoped it would be. Great owners, excellent wine and olive oil. Would highly recommend. The drive was a bit over an hour to get there but well worth it.

It was nice driving through the countryside and visiting Greve in Chianti. Driver guide was Angel and he was excellent. Portions of wine at the winery were a little stingy but wine and food was good. The tour is worth the price to get out of the city for a while and get the wine experience of Tuscany

Good news was with a party of four we were driven in a private car. Bad news was it was a small BMW, rear seat was quite uncomfortable for 3 adults. Good news was our guide Filomena was very nice, quite knowledgeable and had the driving skills to handle hair pin turns as we drove to the vineyard. A suggestion, for Viator, skip the 20 minute visit to Greve and add a stop at the Piazzale Michelangelo. We would have loved to see the view from there, and a 5 Euro card at the wine tasting really didn't amount to much. Might also suggest that for fall tours, a sweater or jacket might be required as the vineyard is at elevation. The knowlege and passion of the host at the vineyard made the whole thing worthwhile. If not for the small car, this would have been a 4 star review.
