BACALAR – 7 Colors Lagoon with transportation from Costa Maya

WORTH EVERY PENNY!! This was by far the highlight of our vacation. Our guide, Genesis and driver, Moises were the absolute best! Getting from the boat to the meeting place wasn’t too bad— Moises called and helped us when we got turned around. The hour drive to Bacalar went by in a snap due to Genesis telling us all about his culture and history of the town- very interesting— even my kids enjoyed his stories. Once we got to Bacalar, we went on the boat and went to the most beautiful lagoon— the fresh water was crystal clear and was the perfect temperature. Genesis joined us to swim and showed us around the lagoon, which was awesome. After about an hour swim there, we headed to lunch for the absolute BEST TACOS. My kids are still raving about these tacos! We then were taken to grab some fresh fruit along the side of the road and enjoyed the best tasting pineapple we’ve ever had- alongside other yummy fruits! They got us back to the port with an hour or so to spare— we never were concerned about missing our boarding time. We will absolutely be booking another excursion when we come back to Costa Maya— and will request Genesis and Moises as our guides! Thank you two for making our trip so memorable!

I loved this excursion to Bacalar the 7 colors lagoon. Our driver Moises met us outside the Costa Maya port which is a walk versus those booked through the cruises but once we got there we were offered an extra option which we declined. Moises drove us to Bacalar telling us a lot about the area and answering all my questions. Once there we got on the boat with the captain (forgot his name, nice guy who used to live in US, Oregon). He took us to multiple locations within the lagoon offered drinks and snacks. We chose to swim in pirate channel. It was beautiful and clear. When we got back on he took us back to the spot where we met Moises. Then we went to El Taco Loco. I cannot say enough good things about the food here. Get the pork tacos they are amazing. Then on the way back we stopped in Pineapple Town for a fresh snack before making our way back to the port. This company may be small but they 100% know how to treat their customers. This is one activity that I would book again. We even got a gift of a magnet in the shape of a sea turtle. Book your excursion with them soon!

This was an experience, not an excursion! We booked this before our cruise, so we had a personal guided trip with so many extras. Tino, and our driver were exceptional!!!

The whole experience was effortless and full of delight. The food and drinks were great, and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. Would recommend it for anyone visiting on a cruise.

We were picked up from the port that our cruise ship stopped in and taken to the bacalar lagoon. It was absolutely gorgeous and refreshing to swim in. Afterwards they took us to the best taco restaurant I’ve ever been to. Tino was a great guide! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

INCREDIBLE DAY! We had Saul as our driver and Carolina as our tour guide. We didn’t realize it was a private tour, which was perfect because we were able to do everything that was planned and more! Carolina was so incredible that we already booked another tour for our next trip to Costa Maya!

Great tour for families, Genesis and Saul were great! My young kids, teens, and us Adults had a great time!

The trip was amazing. They met us exactly where they said they would. We had a great van to take us to the lagoon. We stopped at a fruit stand for fresh fruit. The boat ride in the lagoon was amazing and relaxing. Then lunch at the taco restaurant was great. Back to the port with plenty of time to shop. Would do it again!
