VIRTUAL TOUR: All About Michelangelo in Florence
1
Michelangelo, I love you! Follow us on a virtual tour about this artist's life, deeply connected to main landmarks in Florence. His birth, his childhood, his life experiences: not only a sculptor and a painter, but a young boy and later a man too. We will try to answer to some of the questions about this genius: was he really bad tempered? Was he really a good friend and a supporter of the Medici family? Did he later change his mind? Why did he join the Florentine Repubblica? Why had he a broken nose? Why did he never go back to Florence but in a coffin? Let's figure out the answers for these questions while virtually visiting the best highlights of Florence: Palazzo Medici, Santa Croce, San Lorenzo, Palazzo Vecchio. We will jump from one side of the city to another searching for the authentic Michelangelo. Dont' worry, we will not get tired of walking because we will be comfortably seated at home!

VIRTUAL TOUR to the Religious Center of Florence: the Duomo and its Monuments
When you visit Florence you can't miss its Cathedral Santa Maria del Fiore, the 4-th biggest cathedral in Europe! The long history of its construction, the colours of marble and the many details for its decoration of the outside in comparison with the sobriety of its interior design. We will talk about world famous and less-known facts during our virtual tour. Get ready to see the biggest painted surface in the world: the Dome's frescoes. 3.600 square metres of paintings in front of you! How many people are painted there? Can we recognize any of them? Are there Medicis among them? We will answer all these questions. And that's not all. Can you imagine that the actual Gregorian calendar was introduced thanks to an astronomical instrument which is kept inside the cathedral? Do you want to know why the clock of the cathedral has 24 hours and what it shows? And also: how many people can stay inside the cathedral at the same time?
The 2-nd part of the tour is dedicated to the Baptistery.

VIRTUAL TOUR: the Bargello Museum in Florence
Among the many artistic pearls that embellish Florence we find the Bargello Museum: a museum in the heart of the city which, although less famous than other Florentine must-sees, represents a rarity not to be missed, especially for those who love sculpture. The gothic-style building has the appearance of a real fortress! Designed by Arnolfo di Cambio's father, Lapo Tedesco, it was built from 1255 to be the palace of the Captain of the people until, in the second half of the 16th century, it became the Palace of the Bargello, that was the chief of the police, therefore the seat of city prisons too. At the center of its courtyard we find today a well in whose place, until the abolition of death penalty implemented by Pietro Leopoldo Habsburg-Lorraine in the late 700s, there was the halter where the executions took place. Only in 1865, on the occasion of the sixth centenary of Dante Alighieri's birth, the Bargello was converted into the current museum.

VIRTUAL TOUR: the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, all the must-sees and much more
We can bring the most famous and visited museum of Florence in your home, guiding you through a fantastic experience with high resolution pictures. Born from an idea of Francesco I de’ Medici, the Uffizi Gallery is the best place to understand the main key facts of Italian art history, to appreciate some of the most renowned masterpieces of all times and to discover how the Tuscany daily life looked like centuries ago.
Our tour starts with the impressive panels painted by Cimabue and Giotto and continues with Gentile da Fabriano, then it focuses on the discoveries made by the most important Renaissance artists. We can admire every detail of the Birth of Venus by Botticelli and see the Adoration of the Magi that Leonardo da Vinci couldn’t finish. We will dwell on Raphael and Michelangelo too, without forgetting the Venus of Urbino by Titian. Our trip continues with Caravaggio, who looked for a way to show the real and hard world in his paintings.

VIRTUAL TOUR: Accademia Gallery, the David from closer up
The museum offers the world's largest and most important collection of paintings with gold background, not to mention the Museum of musical instruments, great passion of the Grand Prince Ferdinando de' Medici. The gallery was enriched with paintings from convents, monasteries and other religious institutions suppressed first by Pietro Leopoldo and then by Napoleon. But it was 1872 that marked the definitive turning point in the history of the museum, when Michelangelo's David was transferred here, subtracting this masterpiece from the deterioration due to its original outdoor location, in Piazza Signoria. The statue was slung in a complex wooden chariot and ran on rails through the streets of the city center to the Accademia. On 22 July 1882 the museum was finally inaugurated.
What are we waiting for? Let's visit it together!

Fresco, meaning fresh in Italian, is the revered art of painting on fast-drying damp plaster with water based pigments. During the Renaissance, fresco painting was considered the true test of an artist's skill, since one had to finish before the plaster dried in order to ensure the adhesion of the image to the wall. During this 3-hour hands-on Florence Fresco Workshop, we'll learn basic fresco technique from a local Florentine artist who is a master of fresco painting.

Tuscany Photograph Day Workshop with the local expert
As a native of this area, my idea for these photography workshops emerged from my familiarity with both the land and the people who make it memorable. Photographing the local landscapes is very fulfilling: this is one of Italy’s most photogenic areas. However, having the chance to photograph the people who live and work here is what makes your experience with me unique. At the same time, you will learn to use your camera in different situations, as taking a photo of a landscape requires different skills than photographing a farmer milking his sheep. The light is different, the framing is different, the subject is different. My experience as a photographer and background as a storyteller and reportage photographer feed into my workshops, and you will go home not only with landscape photography but also with the stories that your images narrate.
My best advice? Take one of my workshops at the beginning of your holiday, so that you can practice what you learned in the days that follow.

Painting Experience in the center of Florence
The art class is an amazing opportunity to experience Florence through the eyes of a painter and to immerse yourself in the colours and lights of the Renaissance. The class is a Plein Air in a piazza next to the hotel, or on the river side. I'm a painter and art teacher and also a tourist guide. We will use acrylic colours technique, because we can paint with acrylic as oil, or water color and most important of all it gives us enormous possibilities to spread our fantasy. We will use examples from art history to choose everybody's personal style. You will have the best souvenir from Florence, a small masterpiece painted by you. I'll teach you how to lay a colour base and how to shape the painting. Our aim is to understand how a painting was created in history and to try to quickly complete an art work.
The painting experience will take place on Pontevecchio OR Giardino delle Rose OR Piazza di Santo Spirito depending on weather conditions.
