The Basics

To reach the chalet, an opulent elevator decorated with brass, leather, and Venetian glass rises through solid rock to the summit. At the top, visitors can explore almost-untouched rooms, visit underground bunkers, and dine at the site’s cozy panoramic restaurant and beer garden. Take a day trip from Salzburg or Munich to relax and enjoy the scenery on your way to Eagle’s Nest, and learn about the site’s history from an expert tour guide. Visitors who want to get an overview of the region can opt for a combo tour to see Eagle’s Nest along with nearby highlights such as King’s Lake and the 450-year-old Salzburg Salt Mines.

Incredible
Amazing experience! Being a part of the tour group allowed us to skip the line at the bus stop and not having to worry about driving up the very windy road to the bus stop was very helpful! If you want the ease and hassle free experience of visiting some of the most beautiful places, take this tour!

The whole tour was fantastic. We had a private tour to the eagles nest and we had a great experience. The vehicle was clean and in good condition, sites were serene and the guide was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor.

Great experience for our entire family. The company is very professional and knowledgeable about the area. Based on the normal price to get into the Eagles Nest - just a little expensive.

Salzburg Super Saver: Bavarian Mountains including Eagle's Nest and Salt Mines
This trip was worth the money. We did the full day trip and we enjoyed our Guide Walter, he was knowledgeable and funny. We enjoyed skipping the lines at the Eagles nest (be sure to have cash they don't accept credit cards). Lunch felt rushed the recommended restaurant took too long to serve us, we barely finished our food. The kids (8,10,18) really enjoyed the salt mines. One of the workers at the gift shop refused to let us in because we weren't wearing FFP2 masks while she was not wearing one either -when I mentioned it she got very rude and said she could cause she worked there! Don't understand her logic but I'm probably better off without their overpriced tourist crap anyway. Ended the tour at kings lake-just beautiful! I'd definitely recommend this tour!!

Adventure in Eagle's Nest - Hike Tour
A dream of mine to find the Berghof and the Eagles nest in the Bavarian alps. This came true today! The eagles nest was closed but the day didn't disappoint. Claudio is a great guide full of passion and information and I couldn't have wished for a better partner to tackle the mountain. Lots of hidden history was found and also some sore knees and feet. Just the best day, thank you Caludio.

Berchtesgaden Town and Eagle's Nest Day Tour from Munich
If you're looking into this tour, I assume it's because you're a WW2 buff or a history buff in general. If that is the case, you will not be disappointed. Even if you're not particularly into the subject matter, the trip to Berchtesgaden from Munich is breathtaking and the scenery once you arrive is to die for. The tour is full of other history and information besides WW2 as well. Highly recommended.

Private Bavarian Alps & Eagle’s Nest Day Trip from Salzburg Incl. Entrance Fees
Michael (the guide) was incredible! He was very knowledgable and was able to get us in the front of lines and took us to a wonderful place to eat for lunch. We would recommend this for all that are interested. The time at the Eagle's Nest was short (but enough).

Skip-the-Line: Eagle's Nest in Berchtesgaden Tour from Salzburg
Skip the line was well worth it, as we did not need transport to the pickup area and the lines were long. The commentary on the bus was entertaining and informative. The view at Eagle's Nest was wonderful. This was a highlight of our trip to Germany.

The Eagle’s Nest, Then & Now

The lodge was built in 1939 to celebrate Hitler’s 50th birthday, and was originally intended to serve as a retreat and meeting house for the Nazi Party. It was seldom used for its intended purpose, however, due to the outbreak of World War II. Today, visitors come from all over the world to learn about German history and enjoy summer weather at the on-site restaurant and beer garden (biergarten).
