Aquarium of Genoa

Ponte Spinola, Genoa, Italy, 16128

The Basics

The Aquarium of Genoa was part of a redevelopment project of the city completed in 1992, the 500th anniversary of native son Columbus’ landing in the New World. The visitor-friendly Old Port (Porto Antico) area boasts beautiful views of the city and Ligurian Sea.

Some tours include skip-the-line entry to the very popular aquarium. To see more of Genoa’s landmarks, book a hop-on hop-off bus tour and access additional city sights such as the historical palaces of Via Garibaldi.

Genoa City Hop-On Hop-Off Tour
We enjoyed the Hop on Hop off route in Genoa. Being on a cruise and having limited time this is still the most ideal way of maximizing the time available to experience as much as possible

This was a great experience that allowed us to see Genoa and decide when to get off the bus to visit something in the city. The bus is really useful especially because I was traveling with my elderly parents that can't walk for too long! The service was great and on time even though it was summer.

Excellent way to get a great introduction to the city and it's sights. We took the first day to see all the options, then the second day we took our time and visited every stop in detail. Even walked to Boccadasse along the coast from stop 4 Caravelle to Fiera di Genova then left along Corsa Italia. Great place to have lunch and a great tour with Viator. Highly recommended!

This was the perfect way to spend the afternoon seeing Genoa, after a morning in Portofino. As it was a little rainy, didn't get off at the stops but decided just to ride the full 90 minute tour for the extremely reasonable price Great recorded narration with individual headsets. Pick up right at the cruise terminal and return just steps away from reboarding the ship. Would recommend, and if a nice day, to enjoy the stops.

An excellent way to see Genoa. Go around the loop once and figure out where you want to stop and then hop off and on again after seeing those sites. We were in town all day on a cruise ship so we spent the whole day seeing the city. This was an excellent way to figure out our way around Genoa!

Using the Hop-On Hop-Off bus in Genoa is the best way to get around. It stops near all the major sights, and frequently comes by, so there's very little waiting.
